Manager of the Park - The Land Trust
The Land Trust provides a cost effective management solution for open space and green infrastructure. This land can deliver significant community benefits, improving health, social cohesion, providing an educational resource and uplifting the local economy.
Our open spaces are a crucial part of the social landscape, delivering a range of significant benefits for residents and businesses. Safe and accessible open space allows communities to come together and individuals to develop and relax through physical activity and recreation. Well designed and maintained open spaces are outdoor classrooms, gyms and theatres. They change lifestyles and improve health and well-being. The Trust has the powers and skills to take land into its ownership and to take on acceptable risks in perpetuity. Alongside this we can accept funding streams to ensure that a sustainable management regime will exist - also in perpetuity. This guarantees that the land is managed properly; protecting the original investment made in creating the open space and ensuring it has a permanent and positive effect on the economy and environment of a local area.

Landscape Architects - Planit
Planit-IE are a dynamic design practice with an ability to operate on all levels of the design spectrum, from regional and city wide strategies, visionary masterplanning of urban quarters and sites, through to on-site specification. Consequently our involvement in projects is long lasting. Sustainable development is ingrained in our design ethos and we aspire to intelligent environments, appreciated by our future generations. Our practice is at the cusp of the sustainable communities agenda, and whether we are leading the design process, or working as part of a mutli-disciplinary team, our philosophy is always to add value.
We are a commercially minded company and as such most of our plans see their way onto the ground. We have specific skills in the creation of quality Public Realm, in many cases with the integration of new and often contemporary structures. We have a particular track record with challenging schemes, be they in sensitive locations (Green Belt or Registered Landscapes) or where they are contrary to national or local Planning Policies.
We pride ourselves on having a strong team in depth, and with 25 Landscape Architects and Urban Designers, Planit is the largest dedicated team in the North West. However, we also believe in relationship building, and with us who you see is who you get.
All our projects embody the idea of ‘joined up thinking’, ensuring that the inter-relationship between man and his surroundings is acknowledged and built upon. Landscape and Urban Design issues inform the success of any built development - separating the two only leads to a collection of isolated design statements. Our approach is always to draw upon the existing qualities of any site and use these as the building blocks for design.
The creation of successful, sustainable development requires innovative and integrated thinking and practice. We strive to create external spaces that stimulate the mind and enrich the soul.
